Want the fastest answer? We will choose the details and hand you one complete plan.
1. What should it cost?
2. Where are you up for?
3. What kind of time window?

These are flexible categories, not time limits. Each plan shows its full estimated range.

4. Pick tonight’s vibe
5. Be honest about the energy

Example plan · at home, cozy, low energy

The tiny tasting menu

Turn ordinary snacks into a three-course tasting and give every bite an overly serious review.

$12–$25 total cap · 75–90 min

Bring: three snacks, plates, water, and a pen for your scores. Check dietary needs together first.

  1. Choose three snacks, keeping any shopping to $20 for two with $5 reserved for tax; use what you own if prices run higher.
  2. Spend fifteen minutes plating, then take turns hosting three ten-minute tasting rounds.
  3. Use twenty minutes to rank and share the winner, then ten to wash up and choose the next date.

Too tired? Share one snack and one story for fifteen minutes instead.

This is an example for the starting settings, not a result of your selections. Choose your preferences and select Find our date for a match.

How matching and budgets work

We select from a fixed library, weighting budget and setting most, then time, mood, and energy. Recent results are avoided where possible. A closest-match message names preferences that did not match; it is not a booking or a guarantee of availability.

Cost ranges are planning estimates in US dollars for two, not live prices. A plan may have free and paid versions. For Free, use supplies you already own and skip paid extras. Include tax, tips and travel in your limit; adapt or skip a plan that does not fit.

The last-light bench date

45 minutes · $0 with supplies you own · outdoors or by a window

Bring water, a layer, and something to sit on. Choose a familiar, accessible place with a safe route home; there is no need to find the perfect sunset.

  1. Spend ten minutes walking or settling beside a window. Each notice one detail you usually miss.
  2. Take twenty minutes to trade the stories behind those details, then ask: “What would you like a little more of next week?”
  3. Use fifteen minutes to return or make tea at home. Choose one small thing from your answers that you can actually do.

If plans change: rain, darkness or an inaccessible route are reasons to stay in. Look through one old travel photo each and keep the same conversation.

More plans with clear spending limits

The paper restaurant

60 minutes · $0 using an existing meal · at home

Bring two pieces of scrap paper, pens, the dinner you already planned and a timer. No extra groceries or special tableware are required.

  1. Take ten minutes to write menus that give your ordinary food ridiculous restaurant names. Swap menus.
  2. Spend thirty minutes eating. Each tell the story of one memorable meal, including what made the company good.
  3. Take ten minutes to create a dessert menu for an imaginary future visit, then ten minutes to clean up together.

If energy runs out: skip the menu drawing and rename just one dish aloud. Use a lap tray if a dining table is not available.

Find a quieter at-home plan

A tiny audio tour

30 minutes · $0 beyond your existing connection · long-distance

Each choose three ordinary objects near you and headphones if useful. Agree on a call time in both locations; you do not need video or matching supplies.

  1. Use five minutes to arrive and choose who guides first.
  2. Give each person ten minutes to describe their three objects: where one came from, why one stayed, and which one they would replace.
  3. Finish with five minutes imagining which objects would go on a shared shelf. Choose the next call time.

If the connection drops: send one short recording per object and reply when you have time. Ask before sharing anything personal from someone else’s home.

Plan around distance and different schedules

A simple rhythm

From “what should we do?” to a real moment.

A date does not need to be elaborate. It needs a clear start, a little intention, and enough room for both people to show up.

1

Pick what fits

Use honest constraints to get one doable idea—not a hundred possibilities.

2

Add one detail

A tiny theme, a true note, or a shared snack makes simple feel intentional.

3

Put the phones down

Keep one good question nearby, then let the plan get out of the way.

No perfect night required.

Start with the evening you already have.
